Eight of 35 policemen missing during an attack on the Police Mobile
Force training camp at Gwoza, Borno by Boko Haram insurgents, have been
found, Police said on Tuesday.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Emmanuel Ojukwu, who confirmed
this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, said the officers
were found in the last two days.
Insurgents had on August 20 attacked the training camp, having attacked it earlier on Aug. 7, but was unsuccessful as the policemen repelled the attack.
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, had since ordered that security be tightened in and around all police facilities across the country.
Ojukwu expressed hope that more of the men would be found with the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
