Boko Haram ‘fake preachers’ slaughter 45 worshippers
Suspected
Boko Haram Islamists pretended to be preachers and corralled at least
45 worshippers before slaughtering them near their church in northeast
Nigeria, Agence France-Presse reported Thursday.
The attack happened at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Barderi, near the University of Maiduguri on the outskirts of the city.
The militants entered the village telling people to gather to hear them preach, but then turned their guns on the crowd, BBC reported.
Separately, officials say up to 200 may have been killed in a wave of attacks in the region this week.
